D3 & K2 (Vitamin)
Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 work together synergistically with each nutrient aiding the other in its functions. These vitamins impact almost every system and function in the body. Most of the research supports the dual benefits that has been shown to effectively support overall heart and cardiovascular health, respiratory and immune system function, and also with helping to maintain strong bones.
Vitamin D is known as “the sunshine vitamin” because your body can produce it when your skin is exposed to sunlight. However, it is more than just a vitamin; it acts as a hormone precursor to calcitriol, a powerful steroid hormone that regulates over 1,000 genes in the body. Calcitriol plays a critical role in bone strength by supporting the regeneration of bone cells called osteoblasts.
Despite its importance, vitamin D deficiency is one of the most common nutrient deficiencies in the U.S.. Modern lifestyles that keep people indoors mean that most people rarely get the vitamin D they need, even those living in sunny climates. This product uses Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol), which has much better bioavailability and is more efficiently absorbed by the body than Vitamin D2. Each capsule contains 125mcg (5,000IU) of Vitamin D3.
For vitamin D to work optimally, it needs vitamin K2. The two vitamins work synergistically, meaning each nutrient helps the other perform its functions. Taking both nutrients together is more effective than taking either one by itself.
The preferred supplemental source of vitamin K is vitamin K2 because of its superior bioavailability compared to K1. This product contains 45mcg of Vitamin K2 in the form of Menaquinone-7 (MK-7) per capsule.
